Our History

Our Founders

AccuStandard was started in 1986 by Michael and Alice Bolgar.

Michael’s passion for organic chemistry allowed him to be a pioneer in the reference standard industry. He was first to synthesize all 209 PCB and PBDE congeners. AccuStandard also synthesized PAHs, explosives, pesticides, newly discovered metabolites and many other pollutants of concern.

AccuStandard was founded on the principles of maintaining the highest quality products and providing exceptional customer and technical service.

Although Michael and Alice are no longer with us, their vision continues to lead us.

Our Headquarters

Our facility is located at 125 Market Street, in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.

AccuStandard started in a business incubator co-sponsored by Yale University and The City of New Haven at the former site of Olin Chemical Company in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Outgrowing that facility, the company moved across town in 1998 into a fully modernized facility of 37,000 square feet of laboratories, office and storage space.

Trade Shows, Conferences, and Expositions

Collaborating in-person with the analytical chemistry community and distributors at trade shows, conferences, and expositions is something we take pride in.

Pictured below are some of our booths over the years. One booth is from about 30 years ago, and the other is from the 2024 Pitconn Conference and Exposition.
