Perfluoroalkyl sulfonates
This class of PFAS compounds consists of a perfluorinated carbon chain bonded to a sulfonate group at the tail end of the molecule. The hydrolysis of the sulfonate group can result in a range of the highly persistent Perfluoroalkyl Sulfonate anions which makes this class of perfluorinated compounds particularly dangerous.
