Summer is in full swing in New Haven, Connecticut! We are creating new products, supporting our community, and enjoying the sunshine.

New & Featured Products

Fluorotelomer Alcohols (FTOHs)

AccuStandard now offers several FTOH CRMs prepared in Methanol at 100 ppm. FTOHs are a group of fluorinated organic compounds used in polymers, adhesives, paints, and surfactants. FTOHs are widely used in the production of PFAS, making them the focus of many studies evaluating toxicity and environmental impacts.

ASTM D-8456 - Nitrosamines in Water

Testing for traces Nitrosamines in water and consumer goods has been the main focus of many environmental labs due to the suspected carcinogenic effects of such chemicals. AccuStandard's NEW D-8456 & D-8456-IS include all the 15 target Nitrosamines (native as well as labeled) in the newly published ASTM method D8456 to test for these contaminants in different water matrices.

Analytica 2022

After years of virtual meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AccuStandard was glad to return for in-person gatherings. This past June, AccuStandard joined the analytical chemistry community and attended the world's largest industry gathering, the 2022 Analytica show in Munich, Germany. It was a great opportunity to, once again, connect in person with AccuStandard’s global network of customers and distributors. We look forward to meeting everyone again in future conventions.

Barbequing for Charity

In summer, we take advantage of the beautiful weather with our AccuSummer BBQ Series. We raise money for different charities while enjoying hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, and beverages in our outdoor space.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

For May's BBQ, we raised over $800 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The CFF funds research and drug development, partners with the CF community, and advances high-quality, specialized care to create the opportunity for those with CF to lead long, fulfilling lives.

National Cancer Survivors Month

June is National Cancer Survivors Month. Together we raised $325 for the Smilow Cancer Hospital, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. We also raised another $325 for the Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer, which supports families whose children are undergoing cancer treatments at Smilow.

Company Picnic

In July, we held our company picnic for all employees and their families. We had burgers, hot dogs, seafood, and a visit from the Ice Cream Emergency truck! We relaxed by the lake, got henna, competed in obstacle courses and had a water balloon toss. The crowd favorite part of this event, though, is the tie-dye!

Obstacle Course

We hopped, spun, skipped, jumped, and rolled our way through the obstacle course. Adults and children competed separately, and the winners took home prizes full of summer fun goodies.

Mixing the Dye

We mixed the dye used for tie-dye ahead of time in our own lab. It's important to use good quality dye for the most vibrant colors.

DIY Tie-Dye Goodies

We chose from totes, backpacks, baseball caps, bucket hats, hair scrunchies, and bandanas, then experimented with adding vibrant colors.

Items baked in the sun to help the dye set in, then we took them home to rinse, wash, and wear!
