Perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids
Perfluoro Carboxylic Acids (PFCAs) and their salts are considered as one of the major classes of Perfluoro Alkyl Substances (PFAS). Due to their water and oil repellent properties, both long chain (8 and more) and short chain (fewer than 8) PFCAs are commonly used in personal care products, cleaning products, furniture and other consumer goods. Many of the PFCAs are classified as toxic chemicals and exposure to them may pose serious health concerns.
