ASTM D5837 Furanic Compounds in Electrical Insulating Liquids by HPLC

D5837 covers the determination of substituted furan compounds which are derived from electrical insulating liquid materials. When cellulose-type materials (paper, cardboard, cotton, etc.) degrade, furanic compounds are formed. These furan derivatives can be analyzed by HPLC after derivatization.
