Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis (DHA) Standards
Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis (DHA) is a laboratory technique used to separate, identify, and quantify individual hydrocarbons in petroleum products. It uses Gas Chromatography (GC) to characterize individual hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon groups in fuels. DHA categorizes compounds into Paraffins, Isoparaffins, Aromatics, Naphthenes, Olefins, and Oxygenates, often referred to as PIANO. Typical applications include refinery process optimization, petrochemical feedstock characterization and regulatory and quality control testing. ASTM Methods used for DHA analysis include D6729, D6730 and D7900.
