Your product might not be easily visible inside the vial...it is there
0:14
Small amounts of powder often are spread over the surface and cap of the vial
0:21
Wipe the outside of the vial containing the standard
0:28
Gently tap the bottom of the vial to ensure no material remains in the cap
0:36
Tare the analytical balance and weigh the vial with the cap
0:47
When constant mass is reached record the value
0:51
Here is the initial value

Using a pipette, carefully rinse the vial with a suitable solvent
1:04
If needed, rinse the cap of the vial as well
1:11
Using another pipette, transfer the contents into a volumetric flask
1:23
Rinse and transfer the vial contents at least 3 times to ensure a complete transfer
1:34
Add more solvent to bring the volumetric flask to final volume
1:50
Allow the vial and cap to dry
1:56
Inert gas can also be used for drying
2:02
Tare the analytical balance and weigh the empty vial and cap
2:12
When constant mass is reached record the value
2:19
Here's the empty vial value
2:23
Calculate the amount of material recovered
2:27
Take the initial value, subtract the empty vial value, and you have the total amount recovered
